I had this civ since this summer, but saw someone else was making LoTR civs. However, this person hasn't posted in months, so I'm going to release this civ
Civilization: Mordor
Leader: Sauron
Intro: Sauron the Great, you are destined to conquer the world. Your orc hordes are innumerable and unstoppable. Swarm over the battlements of your foes, and destroy them. Nothing will remain. The Nine Nazgƻl will strike fear into the population, and they will bow before you, making you the true master of the world.
Detailed approach: Go for domination. It is your main path and all your bonuses stack. Conquer quickly though, before enemy food and science can catch up with you. Alternatively, go for science, because you massive production may help you in a space race, and many mountains make great campuses.
Civilization ability:
Land of Fire and Ash - Gain the Forge unique infrastructure. Gain new land type, ashy ground. All tiles under Mordorās control, on their original continent, become ashy, giving -1 food and +2 production. Forces civs to pay double what they would usually pay to have an alliance. Shared visibility for military alliances. Building farms take two builder charges.
Leader ability:
2nd World Conquest - Gain the Nazgƻl unique unit. +2 combat strength when fighting on ashy tiles, +5 combat strength to all units when fighting on any tile other than ashy tiles. +5 loyalty per turn for cities on ashy tiles. +25% production to siege units. +25% production to support units. Can combine units to make corps with military training, and combine units with corps to make armies with mercenaries.
Bonus Scenario:
Hunt for the Ring - A 60 turn scenario game starting in the medieval era. A random civilization, not Mordor, receives a relic called āThe Ringā May be carried by a unit. If the unit dies from a Mordor soldier 50% chance of finding The Ring. If found, Mordor wins the scenario. The unit with The Ring cannot be found unless the unit uses it to become invisible, then NazgĆ»l have the exact location of The Ring. Or, Mordor can perform a āLocate the Ringā project, and if it succeeded, (30% chance) then the region where The Ring is is revealed. If Mordor does not find The Ring in 60 turns, than the other Civilizations win.
Leader agenda:
Exploitative - Likes civs who harvest resources and chop forests.
Preferred religion:
N/A
Starting bias:
Tier I to mountains
Tier II to Volcanoes
Tier I not to coasts
Tier I not to Lakes
Tier I not to Rivers
Unique unit:
NazgĆ»l - Has combat strength equal to you civilizationās strongest unit. -4 combat strength to units adjacent to a NazgĆ»l. Stackable. Unlocked with Stirrups.
Unique infrastructure:
Forge - Replaces Industrial Zone. Minor adjacency bonus for ashy tiles. Major adjacency for mountains. +2 adjacency for volcanoes. +25% production when producing corps or armies in the city. Unlocked and the same time as an industrial zone.
Capital: Barad-dƻr
Dialogue:
Voiced:
Agenda-based approval: āThe world is ours for the taking, I am glad you realize that as wellā
Agenda-based disapproval: āThe great conquerors and leaders of the world bent the environment to their use. You failure to do so will make your name fall into the shadows of history.ā
Attacked: āThe armies of Mordor have been training for years, and they are thirsty for blood. Thank you for the opportunity to quench that thirst.ā
Declares War: āMy orc hordes are ready. They will stream into your lands, pillage your countryside, and sack your cities. Nothing will remain. Sauron will reign forever.ā
Defeated: āHow did you win? There was no way! I was poised to conquer the world!ā
Greeting: āHello. I am Sauron. My armies are like nothing the world has ever seen. Bow to me, or die.ā
Unvoiced:
Sends Delegation: āFormalities are foolish, but I will send you a gift of spears anyway.ā
Accepts Delegation From Player: āThank you for your tribute. My armies may look past your lands.ā
Rejects Delegation From Player: āWe know you only seek to destroy me. You gifts are meaningless.ā
Accepts Player's Declaration of Friendship: āOur nations will be stronger together. I will stand beside you.ā
Rejects Player's Declaration of Friendship: āI would rather destroy you than be your friend. You doom is iminent.ā
Requests Declaration of Friendship: āYou have proven yourself worthy to stand by Sauron the Great. Do you accept?ā
Denounced by Player: āI see you have no fear of me. I will change that very soon.ā
Denounces Player: āYour lands will soon be in my empire, because you show no respect for me.ā
Invitation to Capital: āWould you like to visit Barad-dĆ»r? You can see all of Mordor from the top.ā
Invitation to City: āWe can let you tour as small garrison of ours. Oblige me by visiting.ā
Accepts Invitation from Player: āWe will tour your city. But beware, I donāt forget plans to a fortress.ā
