I am thinking about starting a bot account. I would like to change the nav template BeyondEarthContentsNav to CivBE to be consistant with the other nav templates. I have used autowikibrowser with wikipedia already.
Yes, the reason why this wiki, along with most of the Fandom wikis do not have the templates that sites like Wikipedia is the fact that Fandom for several years did not have the most updated version of the mediawiki software. While the templates you are adding work now, they were not added in the past because the older mediawiki platform did not allow us to. That changed when Fandom upgrade all of its pages to the UCP. https://community.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:MisterWoodhouse/Unified_Community_Platform:_The_Vision,_Purpose,_and_Process No one got around to upgrading this wiki to take advantage of these new features.
This site is an all volunteer maintained. Interest has wained in part because Firaxis hasn't really released a new game for a while. However, there are rumors of a Civ 7 in development. When that is announced, this page should be an exciting place to be. If you need anything please holler. Thanks for your hard work.
Nice work so far. We are pretty laid back on this wiki. Inititive is appreciated.
I believe I understand what you are asking for. First off, we appreciate any help that we can get, so thank you for your help. Second, while you certainly have every right not to edit with an account, signing up [1] for a fandom accounts unlocks some tools that are available to anonymous users.
If you don't want to create an account, there are several ways to edit the unit statistics in the Civilization IV unit pages. For peope without accounts, you are locked into editing the page with the visual editor. (https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Help:VisualEditor) Unit states are found in what we call infobox templates. There are two ways to edit infobox templates. you can click the infobox directly in the infobox, and you can modify the unit stats through the visual editor too. . You may also directly modify the source code by clicking source on the top left hand corner of the visual editor. I hope that helps.I am thinking about starting a bot account. I already did it.
I have made some potential changes to the Civilization game Navigation template. Please take a look. civilization.wikia.com/wiki/User:Oldag07/sandbox3
This template seems to have a bug right under technology enhancement. There seems to be 4 extra columns. I would fix it, but I am a bit confused where the extra column is coming from.
No, my original goal was to upgrade it. Then I realized that the series page probably needed an upgrade too. I guess I can open a fourth sandbox.
The wikipedia chronology section of the Civilization (series) page is actually a very good template for this page.
I have been messing with Civilization (series) page. I think I can convert it into table format. Please comment and add and subtract to what I have in my Sandbox as you see fit. I plan to finish it over the weekend.
Page updated. I also streamlined the navbox. Please copyedit, and add more to the page.
I have been trying to fix the Rising Tide wonder pages such as the Abyssal Mirror (CivBE). I am unable to add the Template:Wonder (CivBE) template but all I get is "script error". I have tried to make this fix but it seems like that adds a script error on all thep building and wonder pages. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.
Computer is finally back. I know civ 6 is the priority, so I guess I will do the rest.
I tried a different strategy with the tech web. It works well because the tech web is all in circles. I think the buildings however should be done in the same way the units are. Or you could make the background the color of the Infobox. that could also work. Unfortunately, I Spilled water on my laptop. It is under warranty. but I won't be able to edit much for the next few weeks. Well best of luck to all.
I got the units. They were the most urgent. Those images are some of the first ones I uploaded to the site. They aren't even labeled (CivBE).png at the end. The buildings, wonders and the tech web are significantly easier because they do. I will leave it in your capable hands to finish the rest of them. It is less urgent to change them because while they still can't be seen on mobile sites, all incidents of their uses are behind dark background infoboxes and tables.
Also there are white transparent icons on Starting a new game (CivBE) are slightly more visible with white backgrounds, but if you can get a script to do them, go for it.
Made a to do list on my page.
Many of the beyond earth images are white with transparent backgrounds. This is great for the current site because the site itself has a dark background. There seems to be talk of a Civ 6 redesign of this site that might have a lighter background. Most of the the white transparent images should be fine because they are in tables and infoboxes. However there are a few of the images that are not. See the unit pages like Soldier (CivBE). Is there some way to make a dark background thumbnail template that could be used for these types of images. Thanks.
Yea, I used the module and compared it for what we had already, and those were the missing quests. I probably will add blank versions, to the page. This usually invites people to add stuff. I might reinstall and play again too, but in reality, you aren't going to get many. Oldag07 (talk) 17:38, August 30, 2016 (UTC)
