Great Library entry[]

Scientists now believe that man may have developed primitive agriculture in as few as one hundred years though competing theories suggest a longer evolution from herders to farmers. In either scenario, the origin of agriculture lies in wild grains that supplemented the nomadic diet. The new foods forced stability on nomadic life, requiring man to track the seasons and to organize and maintain the fields.
