Confederate naval unit that can be exchanged for Gold.

Strategy

May only be built by the Confederate. Receive Gold for each Blockade Runner that is moved to the Eastern map edge (where it will be automatically disbanded).

The Confederate blockade runners were light, fast merchant ships commissioned to slip past or outrun Union warships that tried to enforce the Anaconda Plan, a strategy to deprive the South of its cotton trade with the European nations. Running cotton out and medical and military supplies in was a lucrative, if dangerous, business for Southern captains; by the end of the war, the Union had captured 1100 blockade runners and destroyed 355 more.
