Gaius Julius Caesar (12 July 100 BC – 15 March 44 BC) was a Roman general and statesman. As a member of the First Triumvirate, he led the Roman armies to victory in the Gallic Wars before defeating his rival Pompey in a civil war, becoming dictator in 49 BC until his assassination in 44 BC. He leads the Romans in Civilization III.

- He was married to Cleopatra of Egypt, who ruled from 51 BC to 30 BC.
- The building in the background of the Modern Times Caesar appears to be St. Peter's Basilica, this may also be the case for the Industrial Ages background.
