Capital (CivRev)

The Arabs' former capital has just been captured by the Egyptians, who receive gold and Great People as spoils.

The Capital is the first and most important city created by every civilization at the start of a game. Each capital holds the Palace which adds 50% defense for all units in the city.

Gameplay

As a Domination Victory requires all capitals to be held by a civilization, the capital is always the main target of those looking for that victory. It is important to have your best defenders in the capital if a war is not going your way, or if the attackers are focusing on your capital. If you capture an enemy capital, defend it well so you can reap the benefits of having multiple capitals. A capital gains double culture if the player has a Monarchy.
