Bonus building in the Conquest of the New World Deluxe scenario of Civilization V. Can only be constructed in cities with at least one Plantation nearby.

• +2 additional Gold Gold from Cocoa Plantations.

Strategy

The Chocolate House can only be constructed in a city with a Plantation nearby. The Chocolate House increases the Gold Gold output for Plantations by one and each improved Cocoa resource increases the Gold Gold output by an additional 2.

In 1643 AD, the French court embraced chocolate - first imported from the New World in 1585 into Spain - and a chocolate fad swept across Europe in the following decade. The first chocolate house opened in London in 1657 offering beverages and confections made of the stuff, and soon such became trendy meeting places for the elite across the continent.
