The Computer Center increases science in a city by 50% through access to high-tech research equipment. Also, each citizen in the city creates 1/2 Science.

From its inception, the computer was designed to solve problems that scientists understood but which required more calculations than a human, or many humans could perform. Code breaking, for instance, depended on guessing at a cipher millions of times. Artillery trajectories offered another application. In both cases, the computer whirred through the myriad of possibilities without complaint, exhaustion, or error, delivering the results quickly and succinctly.
