The Corporate Branch is a unit in Civilization: Call to Power.
Summary[]
The Corporate Branch opens the door to economic warfare through the franchise, a method of siphoning production. Once in place, only Lawyers can rid cities of franchises. Exercising these abilities, however, is not free. Each time one is used, the Civilization is charged gold. The Corporate Branch is a stealth unit and can only be seen by other trade units.
Great Library entry[]
The rise of the Corporation created an institution that quickly became powerful even across national boundaries. As corporations sought cheap sources of labor and new markets for their wares, they frequently went overseas setting up foreign factories or franchises. Corporations have set up franchises in many foreign locales, including Russia, Thailand and Guatemala. In exchange for their cheap labor, the corporations provide jobs, which often helps stimulate foreign economies.
