Corporations are a new concept in the Beyond the Sword expansion pack. There are seven corporations: Standard Ethanol, Aluminium Co, Mining Inc., Sid's Sushi Co, Creative Constructions, Civilized Jewelers and Cereal Mills.
Founding a Corporation
A Corporation requires three prerequisites: the Corporation technology, a secondary technology, and a Great Person specific to that Corporation. When all three conditions have been met, and the player is not in the State Property civic, the Great Person can move to a city and build the corresponding Corporation Headquarters.
Spreading a Corporation
Each city with a corporation present can build Corporate Executives. These units act like Missionaries, and require a lump sum of gold to spread their respective Corporation into a city. The city then receives all benefits (and demerits) of the corporation, and the ability to build more Corporate Executives. However, competing Corporations cannot be built in the same city.
