The capable Craterus was one of Alexander’s more reliable commanders. Early successes at Issus and Tyre led to him serving as a supreme commander alongside Alexander during the Persian campaign. He was not above politics, such as accusing his rival Philotas of treachery, but was unwavering in his loyalty his king.
