Desert is a type of terrain in Civilization: Call to Power.
Gameplay[]
Deserts are harsh environments and cannot easily support a city. Farming and mining are expensive, but possible. Movement is slow, but it is relatively easy to build roads through the sandy terrain. Rivers greatly enhance this terrain.
Great Library entry[]
Arid and semi-arid regions constitute a third of the Earth's land surface. It is an expensive and time-consuming activity to hold back encroaching deserts which otherwise may move across 40 square miles of earth a day. Los Angeles relies upon a system of aqueducts to funnel more than three-quarters of its water from the Sierra Nevada mountains, 340 miles away.
