Forest is a type of terrain in Civilization: Call to Power.
Gameplay[]
Forests provide an abundance of production for a city, and a defensive bonus in combat. Roads are costly to build through the thick forest. Rivers greatly enhance this terrain.
Great Library entry[]
For the earliest human civilizations, the forest enabled people to satisfy their vital needs: gathering fruit for food, collecting wood for heat or construction, and hunting. In time, the forest was cleared to make room for agriculture. Plato urged the Greeks towards conservation, but not until the 15th century was the reality of timber shortages recognized across Europe.
