Back to the list of Policy Cards
Free Inquiry is a Golden Age Policy Card from the Dramatic Ages game mode in Civilization VI. It is available from the Classical Era to the Medieval Era and uses a Wildcard slot.
Strategy[]
Free Inquiry has similar effects to its namesake Dedication, save for replacing the Eureka enhancement with a Gold bonus for Campuses. It is one of the most powerful Golden Age Policy Cards in the game, especially when combined with Natural Philosophy, Town Charters, and/or Naval Infrastructure. Civilizations that benefit the most from it include Korea, Mali, Japan, England, Phoenicia, and Brazil.
Civilopedia entry[]
Knowledge is power, the philosopher Michel Foucault noted, and as such it is dangerous. Societies devoted to free inquiry gamble that they are strong enough to survive the answers that open questioning gives.
