Future Tech (an abbreviation of "future technology", referring to discoveries that were mostly only dreams in 1996) is the true final Civilization II advancement.
Each level of this gives only additional Civilization Points like other advancements; no other benefits. However, because the Pollution calculation is partly determined by the number of advances a player has obtained, researching a bunch of future technologies without building a lot of Solar Plants can lead to runaway pollution. .
