The Granary is a city improvement in Civilization: Call to Power.
Effect[]
After a city with a granary grows in population, the granary gives the city 50% of the stored food needed to grow another population. This helps the city grow twice as fast as cities that do not have Granaries.
Great Library entry[]
With the development of Agriculture, Civilizations needed a place to store seed crop from harvest to harvest and to protect against famine when harvests turned lean. Early Granaries were little more than simple holes dug into clay soil, stone containers, or woven baskets covered in dried mud. With time, clay pots made of fire-hardened loops of earth replaced these primitive vessels.
