The Greeks are a playable civilization in Civilization II.

Color

The Greeks are an orange civilization. A game including the Greeks will not involve the Carthaginians or English.

Alexander the Great and Hippolyta (Civ2)

The default male leader of the Greeks is Alexander. Alexander the Great (356–323 BC) was an Argead king of Macedon who successfully conquered the Persians. Although his kingdom lay on the Greek periphery and his empire was divided among his generals upon his death, he is still generally credited with the hellenization of the Near East for the next 1000 years.

The default female leader is Hippolyta, daughter of Ares and queen of the Amazons in Greek legend.

Greek leaders use governments' default titles except for democracy. Greek presidents are titled "prime minister".

In the Rome scenario, Alexander's empire has been divided up among his generals: the Seleucid Greeks (using Chinese settings) under Antiochus control southwest Asia from Seleucia in Mesopotamia; the Ptolemaic Greeks (using Spanish settings) under Ptolemy control Egypt from Alexandria beside the Nile delta; and the Macedonian Greeks (using Viking settings) control northern Greece proper from Pella.
