Harald Sigurdsson, also known as Harald "Hardrada" or Harald the Hard Ruler, was King of Norway from 1047 until 1066. Hardrada is remembered most notably for his invasion of England and his subsequent defeat at the Battle of Stamford Bridge in September 1066, which unofficially marks the end of the Viking Age.
