Hatshepsut (c. 1507 – 1458 BC) was the Great Royal Wife of Pharaoh Thutmose II and the fifth Pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt, ruling first as regent, then as queen regnant from c. 1479 BC until c. 1458 BC. She is a leader in Civilization VII.

Intro[]

The early 14th century BCE saw Egypt flourish beneath the guiding hand of Hatshepsut. During her long tenure Hatshepsut expanded Egypt’s trading empire, establishing networks and influence in the Mediterranean to the north and the rich land of Punt to the south. She channeled the resulting wealth into immense building projects that captured her people’s rich heritage, ensuring the power she cultivated for both Egypt and herself would be immortal.
