Hospital is a city improvement in Civilization: Call to Power.
Effect[]
The Hospital alleviates overcrowding in a city by 3 and helps prevent the plagues and epidemics that threaten most crowded metropolises.
Great Library entry[]
The founding of hospices and leper colonies dates from the sixth century AD. By the 12th and 13th century, the primitive hospice had developed into the modern hospital. But only in the 17th and 18th Centuries did reform reduce crowding to one patient to a bed. Although medical knowledge may not have been easily accessible for the poor, (alas, times still have not changed), for the wealthy, medical knowledge offered hope and thus happiness.
