Hydroponic Farms is a tile improvement in Civilization: Call to Power.
Gameplay[]
Hydroponic Farms use soil-less farming techniques to create an additional 25 food when worked. This improvement costs 1400 PW and takes two turns to build on plains, grasslands, and deserts.
Great Library entry[]
Developed in the late 20th century, hydroponics allowed farmers to grow crops without using soil. Plants grow in soil-less cultures by absorbing necessary nutrients from formulated solutions. Hydroponics surpassed conventional methods during the early 22nd century, producing more of the world's food than soil-based farms.
