Unique building of the Zulu civilization. Replaces the Barracks.
- +15 experience to all military units produced in this city.
- Grants unique promotions to pre-gunpowder melee units.
Strategy
The following units will receive the Buffalo Horns promotion and thus have access to the special upgrade path when built in a city with an Ikanda:
- Warrior
- Spearman
- Swordsman
- Impi
- Longswordsman
That is a considerable portion of early game units! Furthermore, if you manage to acquire all three promotions of the chain, you will get a very nice army!
The unique promotions are:
- Buffalo Horns: +1 movement, +25% flank attack bonus, +10% defence against ranged attacks (Granted automatically)
- Buffalo Chest: +10% open terrain bonus, +25% flank attack bonus, +10% defence against ranged attacks (Requires Buffalo Horns)
- Buffalo Loins: +10% combat strength, +25% flank attack bonus, +10% defence against ranged attacks (Requires Buffalo Chest)
Flank attack percentages given are based on the 10% normal bonus. Hence, all three promotions will raise the flank attack bonus to +17.5%.
