The Lawyer is a unit in Civilization: Call to Power.
Summary[]
The Lawyer gives the player a powerful unconventional weapon: the Law. With the Lawyer, the player can file an injunction against his opponent, temporarily stopping his enemy's production. He may sue enemy Corporate Branches as well as other trade units or eliminate franchises from cities. The Lawyer is a stealth unit, which allows him to hide from regular armies. Exercising his special abilities costs gold.
Great Library entry[]
Democracy protects the people through the rule of law, but the introduction of a written constitution and adversarial courtrooms brings a new tactic into being: the lawsuit. Although striking without bullet or blade, the lawsuit nevertheless draws blood. Through the lawsuit, large corporations can threaten and intimidate smaller competitors and consumer groups can badger polluters and unsafe manufacturers.
