The Magna Carta is a wonder in Civilization Revolution.

Strategy[]

The Magna Carta can be built after discovering Democracy and causes all Courthouses in the player's cities to produce culture in addition to their usual benefit. This wonder's effect is also never canceled.

Note that the Magna Carta is the earliest wonder you can build that has a continuous benefit that does not expire. For this reason, it is quite a worthwhile use of resources, as it will give you a benefit for a large chunk of the game - usually around 150+ turns.

Civilopedia entry[]

One of the most famous documents in the history of democracy, with its ratification in 1215 AD, the Magna Carta granted rights to the English citizenry and nobility while limiting the absolute power of the King. This would be an important stepping stone for many forthcoming democratically-minded documents.

Fun facts[]

  • Habeas Corpus, more commonly known as the right to a speedy trial, was one of the key reforms created by the Magna Carta.
  • A copy of the Magna Carta rests in the Hall of Parliament in Australia and in the Library of Congress in the United States, acknowledgement by those two countries of the debt their constitutions owe to the Magna Carta.
