Intro[]
The Maurya arose from a land of incredible cultural diversity, but one reeling from war. From Chandragupta's conquests of Alexander the Great's successors, the dynasty reached its height under Ashoka, who embraced nonviolence and tolerance. Balancing open-mindedness with military might, the Maurya built an empire that was as wise as it was glorious—until its fall to an assassin's blade.

The Mauryan theme consists of three chants representing the three major religions of ancient India. First is the Namokar Mantra which is the most significant mantra in Jainism. Second is the initiation text of the Dhammacari - a kind of devotees (upāsakas) in Theravada Buddhism. The third part of the song is the 23rd hymn from the second Mandala of Rigveda - a sacred Hindu text. The forth and last segment of the composition is a repeat of the Namokar Mantra.
