Mesopotamia is the region where the first state in world history Began. This State was called Sumer. The first people who lived in Mesopotamia were the Sumerians . Mesopotamia is Divided in 3 Principal States. Sumer-Akad to the north Babylonia then in the most morth is Assyria. The most famous cities were : Babylon , Ur , Uruk , Kish , Assur , Lagash , Nippur , Susa , Niniveh , Nimrud . The three states in Mesopotamia: Babylonia , Sumeria and Assyria . Assyria is an empire: Assyrian Empire. Babylon creates the Babylonian Empire. Which was a Unification of Babylonia and Sumer. The famous king of the Babylonian Empire is Hammurabi . His Code of laws made him famous.
