Hello! What's the point when you have been replacing the Civilization V images? The old ones were nicely cropped, it seems that you have mainly added empty padding around the images, such as with File:Robotics_(Civ5).png. And File:SSStasisChamber.png, for example, you just made much smaller. Why all the trouble? —ZeroOne (talk) 20:35, September 18, 2019 (UTC)
Hello! Civ5 images are nicely good from all sides except one: they (almost all) are under 200px so can't be displayed in category pages correctly. That was the reason for me to replace them. There were two ways to do it: save existing image, increase it to 200 px and reload or just replace it by image (unchanged) that I already have... I choosed second one: unfortunately I don’t have much time to correct every image manually. That's all.
P.S. And, besides, there is no standard size for current Civ5 images - and the new ones are all the same size (in my opinion, this is much more convenient).
What do you mean by "can't be displayed in category pages correctly"? Here's how Category:Icons (Civ5) looks like to me -- just fine, as far as I'm concerned, and all of the images are definitely under 200px wide:
I mean this: take a look at this file before and after the replacement. Is there a difference? In my opinion, it's obvious: when file is under 200 px, it's not displayed at all, one can see only blank place - or absolutely different file that has nothing to do with the page. And it'll never be displayed here, in "Popular pages". Maybe, it's not a great problem - but it's the problem indeed... and I tried to fix it.
I see... To me the right solution would be to just get the current images to appear, instead of re-uploading padded versions. I've now contacted Fandom and asked if there's anything they could do to help us out with this, let's wait for their comment.
OK, I'm not going to get ahead of events. But I must say that I have been faced with this problem for several years and haven't yet found a solution other than replacement... I hope they on Fandom could help with it.
