I'm a little confused by the Icon5 article you created. It's not a content article, so what purpose does it serve? If you're trying to create a macro that will render an icon along with a textual link, I suggest you look at articles such as Template:Food5 and revise them to be more similar to, say, Template:Food6.
Be forewarned that if you do this, you or someone else will need to edit any articles that use these templates to remove redundant instances of the word, and create Template:FoodIcon5 and similar templates so that editors will have a way to render the icons without text.
Whoops yes, it was in the wrong name space. Seeing as though you're an admin, can you move it to template space? [edit2: need to find an appropriate template title, considering Template:Yield5]
I intend on adding a "Foodn" entry (name+n for each, eg Goldn, Productionn) to standardisedly implement the no text feature you request. Obviously it is possible for users to use the old T:Food5 (until such time if it gets proposed for deletion) or simply locate the appropriate File:Food5.gif etc. I'll certainly look at Food6 as well. [edit: that exact solution isn't particularly appropriate unless a bot can process and remove the duplicate words that will otherwise create]
Thanks for getting in touch, and while you're here, did you have any objections regarding promotion? I'm not sure if you noticed my edits to the table template there to reduce links out, which are self redirects pages (but ones you set up a few years back).
And to be more specific regarding its purpose: I'm not sure if you checked the source, but the idea is to amalgamate ALL icon templates into one (compare wikia:c:endlessspace:template:icon) so that if future changes are required, they can all be done at once without needing to edit x-many icons pages separately.
No objections to the revisions to the links in the table on Promotions (Civ5). There's no real point in having links in an article that point to the article itself (though as I recall, they were originally redlinks in the table, and I created the redirect pages for the sake of filling out search parameters and overview templates).
It sounds like the template you have in mind will be helpful to have. Thanks for the explanation, and keep us posted.
Thanks for your commitment to editing the China page.
Yes, I am aware that it was a lot of information. I was the one who wrote that original section, but I believe it to be outdated now. China can do very well regardless of getting Pyramids + Petra. That is why I took out that section and just replaced it with new one.
I hope you understand. Please don't hestitate to let me know your thoughts.
Great, that's perfect! Sorry for sounding a little snappy in the summary. I was mostly weary that such removal was marked as "minor," but perhaps I'm too cynical. Thanks for doing the good work, and providing the best information possible! :) Techhead7890TalkContribs 13:56, April 11, 2018 (UTC)
