  • Hey! Just so you know, there's a specific way to format the Gallery sections of pages. First, you start and end with the following tags (minus the dashes):

Between them, you'll type "File:" or "Image:" and the names of the images you want to include in the gallery - no need for double brackets or size specifications. If you want to include captions, type them after a vertical bar. For example, in the Gallery section of the Jadwiga page, I typed the following between the opening and closing gallery tags to make the images appear as they do:

    "File:Jadwiga Civ6 Splash.jpg|Promotional image of Jadwiga

File:Jadwiga loading screen (Civ6).jpg|Jadwiga on the loading screen

File:Jadwiga Portrait.jpg|A portrait of Jadwiga (which appears to be the basis for her in-game model)"

Just wanted to let you know so you can give these sections a cleaner look. Other than that, keep up the good work!

  • Hi Ziwantan! I've noticed you have been working like a dog lately! That's awesome, keep up the great work!

I believe you noticed I added those little icons into some of those Great People articles that you created, as you created some other articles with the comment "please link to Great Engineer (Civ6)". I can definitely add the icons to your new articles as well. For that I've been using a semi-automatic tool called AutoWikiBrowser to edit articles en masse. But since you probably want to know how to add the icons by yourself, here's how. The icons are created using templates. When you edit an article, there should be a box named "Templates" near the lower right corner. Click "Add other templates" and look for the correct one. The available ones should all be listed in Category:Civilization VI icon templates. Some have two versions, such as {{Faith6}} and {{FaithIcon6}}. Eventually it'd be nice if all of them had both versions, but I haven't had the time to do that -- only the most common ones. The first one renders the image and a link, "Civ6Faith Faith", and the second one renders just the image: "Civ6Faith". Another, probably easier, way to use the templates is to use the source editor (click "Source" at the top right corner of the editing window) and to add the name of the template in double curly braces: {{FaithIcon6}}.

Also, I notice you learned from Becer's message and your images are all named very nicely. :) Just one detail: the images actually need to be disambiguated too. So rather than uploading File:Natural Wonder Mount Kilimanjaro.jpg, it should instead be called File:Natural Wonder Mount Kilimanjaro (Civ6).jpg. I think one might need admin rights to rename files, so no biggie, I'll rename the existing ones one of these days.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for your hard work! It has definitely not gone unnoticed. I could've messaged you earlier, but I wanted to take a bit more time to write a proper post. Just don't forget to enjoy the game too! ;) Cheers, and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions! —ZeroOne (talk) 17:04, November 19, 2016 (UTC)

PS. Oh and since you are currently one of our most active editors, would you mind dropping by the Discussions and this thread and letting others know if you have any ideas or preferences on how the Civ6 articles should look like? The general opinion seems to be emerging towards not having a header "Game info" like we currently have in many articles.

  • Hey there, welcome back and hello from me! I'm glad to see Civ6 lured you back in, it did the same to me.

If there's anything an admin can do to help you don't hesitate to ask me or one of the others.

By the way since I'm messaging you thanks for uploading the leader splash pictures, but please be a bit more consistent in your naming scheme. :)

File:Yyz0o2r5bn76 civVI firstlook india hero.jpg is kind of a weird file name and it makes it hard to find all the civ6 leader splash images. For this purpose I'll change them to the Civ6_Splash_LeaderName format.

Hoping to see you around for a while!
