The Modern Age is the third age in Civilization: Call to Power. It is preceded by the Renaissance Age and followed by the Genetic Age.

The Modern Age began with the discovery of railroad, steel, chemistry, and the Age of Reason. The Modern Age witnessed an explosion in economic life and a revolution in international commerce and manufacturing. Along with this came fundamental shifts in human perception. The discovery of evolution, the rise of communism, the creation of the atomic bomb - such events shook the very foundation of society and faith, inspiring a century of chaos, atheism, and material greed.
