Mountain is a type of terrain in Civilization: Call to Power.
Gameplay[]
Mountains can support a city which gains valuable protection in the rugged terrain. The terrain, however, slows movement and hinders the construction of roads. Mines are the only industry possible in mountains. Rivers greatly enhance this terrain.
Great Library entry[]
The word "alp" actually refers to mountain meadows, but the word has come to mean high elevation mountains. Formed by the collision or separation of continental plates, mountains have historically been excellent defenses for budding civilizations, as well as useful for herding goats, mining precious metals, and since the 18th century, for recreational sports.
