Mt. Everest was a natural wonder that was slated to appear in Civilization V, but was cut from the game before its release.

Its summit at nearly 30,000 feet, Mount Everest is the highest mountain on the planet. Located in Nepal, Asia, Mount Everest is a part of the Himalayan mountain range. Everest was first surmounted in 1953 (with the aid of oxygen tanks) by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay; in 1978 Reinhold Messner and Peter Habeler made the first successful ascent without supplemental oxygen. Over 210 people are known to have died while attempting to climb the mountain.
