- 2 Great Work of Art or Artifact slots
Strategy[]
The Museum is the next step in increasing a city's Culture output.
In Brave New World it contains 2 slots for Great Works of Art. These increase the total Culture bonus to +5 (as in vanilla Civilization V), but also provide +4 Tourism for your continued advancement towards a cultural victory. As if that weren't enough, the Museum is the only common building which provides a theming bonus - if you fill both slots with either Great Works of Art or Artifacts, and both from either your civilization or from one or two civilizations other than you, and both from the same era, the +2 bonuses to Culture and Tourism will allow the Museum to generate a total of 7 Culture and 6 Tourism! If you fulfill only two of the theming requirements, it still provides a +1 bonus.
Civilopedia entry[]
A museum is a building or series of buildings designed to hold a civilization's most treasured possessions for public display. There are museums that contain collections of art, there are museums which contain fossils, items of historical interest, as well as museums holding costumes, jewels, ancient weapons, or virtually anything else which might be of value and interest. The Hermitage art museum in Saint Petersburg was founded in 1764 by Catherine the Great. Open to the public since 1852, it is one of the oldest and largest museums in the world.
