Astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus is no stranger to controversy. Why, he claims the sun is the center of the universe, rather than the earth! His "heliocentric" theories would seem completely absurd, if not for the interest amongst the Catholic clergy—Pope Clement VII himself numbers amongst the theory's supporters.
