Occult Research is a unique project in Civilization VI. It is exclusive to the Hermetic Order secret society in the Secret Societies Game Mode, introduced in the Ethiopia Pack. It becomes available after building a Campus district.
While active, Occult Research converts 15% of the city's Production output to Gold. When completed, it provides 500 Science per Ley Line within the city (does not scale by game speed) and it also yields Great Scientist, Great Engineer and Great Merchant points each equal to approximately 16.7% of the Production invested in it (on standard speed).
Due to the significant amount of Great People Points this project generates its cost is almost 4 times more expensive than regular District Projects.
