Path to Nirvana is a scenario in Civilization VI that was released with the Khmer and Indonesia Civilization & Scenario Pack.

IntroEdit

May the blessings of Heaven descend upon you, o ruler! Many religions are practiced in these lands, and many creeds promise salvation. Will you spread your word into the hearts of the people? Or will these souls be swayed by other creeds?

GameplayEdit

In this scenario, you control one of seven different East Asian civilizations, each of which begins play with one or more civics discovered and its own religion with a fixed set of beliefs. Civ6Science Science, Civ6Gold Gold, Tourism6 Tourism, and diplomacy are disabled, cultural borders are fixed, Traders do not build roads, and features cannot be removed. The Commercial Hub and Harbor districts and their buildings provide Civ6Culture Culture and Civ6Production Production instead of their usual yields, and the Mosque, Pagoda, Stupa, and Wat are all unlocked by Printing (though a civ still needs the appropriate belief to build or purchase them).

Religious units play a pivotal role in this scenario: they all start with a Promotion (Civ6) Promotion, and each class has its own promotion table. They can also be trained at a Civ6Production Production cost equal to their base Civ6Faith Faith purchasing cost.

Every city-state in this scenario except Kashgar provides a Suzerain bonus determined by its type, and the bonuses for becoming the Suzerain of multiple city-states of the same type are not cumulative. In addition, civs can convert city-states to their religion by sending them Envoy6 Envoys, each of which adds 300 Religious pressure.

At the end of 50 turns, you and all the other players receive Victory Points (VP) at the rate of 1 per point of Civ6Faith Faith you are generating each turn, 1 per Citizen6 Citizen following your religion, and 20 per foreign city following your religion. The player with the most VP wins.
