Production is a game concept in Call to Power II.
Gameplay[]
Production is one of the three basic resources in Call To Power II. All Cities generate Production by working the tiles of land in and around the city. The city limits (represented by a white dotted line drawn on the map) indicate from which tiles a city draws Production. Different terrain types have varying levels of Production, and mining Tile Improvements can help a city increase the amount of Production it creates.
Production represents the combination of human labor, natural resources and raw materials that are required for industry. Cities draw on their Production to build Improvements, Units and Wonders. Cities may increase their Production by building Improvements and Tile Improvements. They can also assign Workers to be Laborers.
In order to build Tile Improvements and Terraform tiles, leaders must dedicate a portion of the total Production output of their empire to Public Works.
To control the productivity of an empire, players can set the Workday level for each citizen. The longer the Workday, the more Workers produce. Workday length has a direct impact on Happiness, so it is wise to not overwork one's citizens.
