Requires Liberty. (BNW-only)

  • Tile improvement construction speed increased by 25%
  • Two free Workers appear near the City.

Strategy

The Pyramids is one of the earliest wonders available, and it may considerably speed up your early development. Its main effect, faster improvement construction, combines nicely with the similar effect from the Liberty social branch, but even more important are the free Workers, which will allow you to upgrade your early cities with lightning speed. To get a chance at building the Pyramids, adopt Liberty first thing, then research Mining, then finally Masonry.

On higher difficulties (Emperor and above), grabbing land with Settlers may take a higher priority over this wonder.
