River Goddess is a Pantheon in Civilization VI. It provides +1 Amenity to cities if they have a Holy Site district adjacent to a River. In Gathering Storm, it was altered to provide +2 Amenities and +2 Housing to cities instead.
Strategy[edit | edit source]
Obviously, the more rivers your empire contains, the more useful this pantheon becomes, especially for militaristic or religious players. River Goddess is useful for both the Dutch and the Hungarians, whose unique abilities encourage them to found and develop riverside cities, as well as the Khmer, since Jayavarman VII's leader ability already grants riverside Holy Sites bonus Food and Housing. The extra Amenities and Housing from the pantheon will make these cities more productive and allow them to support a larger Population. The Egyptians, with their starting bias for rivers and ability to build on Floodplains, can also easily use this pantheon.
