Rubies are found on Rough Plains and Desert tiles and both flat and Rough Tropical tiles.

As the demon Vala fell to the Hindu gods, his blood collected, hardened, and turned into rubies. So the legend goes, and rubies were in ancient Sanskrit texts called ratanaraj, the king of gemstones, valued beyond diamonds for their color. The Siamese considered them one of the sacred “nine gems” of rule, and Burmese warriors might place a ruby in their own body to achieve invincibility. Surely, thinking of them as simply hardened aluminum oxide is less romantic. Today, they are mined in East Africa and especially in Southeast Asia, principally Myanmar, and they remain one of the hardest and most prized gemstones.
