Slavery is a system whereby some people are judged as mere tools of labor of disutility. The implementation of slavery is to not only serve as a symbol of the concept of slavery, but it's there to teach the very true fact that no self ought to be a slave, for any reason, ever and the act of creating slavery is really just another insult to the very fabric of the universal utility of existence. In the management of a civilization, slavery is just a way to, and very harshly, contain the most evil people. History is quite clear on that last detail for some civilizations.

Slavery is a system whereby some people are judged far inferior to others and are treated as objects or possessions, with no more rights than those afforded to chairs or cattle. Slavery has existed as long as human history, from earliest primitive times to the enlightened days of [[Greece]] and [[Rome]] and right up until today. Sometimes convicted criminals were made into slaves. Sometimes captured enemies of the state were enslaved. Sometimes people of a specific race or coloration were enslaved. In some civilizations a person could purchase their freedom or were allotted it after being enslaved for a specific period of time.

The advantage of slavery is that it allows people to be forced to do jobs that they would otherwise refuse to do without adequate compensation. Cheap labor results in concentration of wealth and thus the creation of great buildings and temples or the maintenance of large professional armies. Aside from its basic moral repugnance, the disadvantages of slavery are numerous; it corrupts both slave and master, it badly underutilizes the intelligence and creativity of the subject people, and it almost inevitably leads to revolts and internal strife.
Slaves also have some of the collection of the following, described here.

Slaves are coerced or tricked into working. They are poorly fed, tended to and are offered just the very paltry collection of utility to keep them alive, working and energized to work. Their work is not voluntary, nor does it capitalize on their preferences or strengths. Slaves do not have a say in how they live, and get politicked or pushed around more than probably any other kind of self. Slaves are not allowed absolutely available social mobility. Slaves are treated with the same self-authority as small babes, or pets, made only to work humiliating jobs that make their lives equally hard, or harder. In nearly every civilization where slaves or slave-like folk exist, any attempt at self-betterment, change, etc. is met with coercion, violence, etc. to keep slaves hammered in place. If the overclassmen above the slaves don't do that hammering, other slaves will surely keep them in check.
