The spaceship is a game concept in Civilization III.
Space Race
One of the peaceful methods of victory in Civilization III is to be the first to colonize Alpha Centauri, the nearest star system. In order to achieve this victory, the player must be the first to launch a completed spaceship to Alpha Centauri.
Building the Ship
Each civilization can build an "Alpha Centauri-worthy" spacecraft, and construction can begin when the civilization completes the Apollo Program (Small Wonder). To win the space race victory, you have to be the first to build, then launch, the spaceship.
The spaceship is comprised of the following ten components, which must be built prior to its launch:
- SS Thrusters
- SS Cockpit
- SS Docking Bay
- SS Engine
- SS Fuel Cells
- SS Life Support System
- SS Stasis Chamber
- SS Storage-Supply
- SS Planetary Party Lounge
- SS Exterior Casing
The components may be built in any order.
