Speed is a game setting in Civilization VI that modifies the general costs and "scales" of all actions in the game, including the number of turns. It is represented as "Game Speed" on the Game Setup menu.

There are 5 game speeds in Civilization VI:

  • Online speed (Civ6).png Online (100% faster - 250 turns)
  • Quick speed (Civ6).png Quick (33% faster - 330 turns)
  • Standard speed (Civ6).png Standard (normal speed - 500 turns)
  • Epic speed (Civ6).png Epic (50% slower - 750 turns)
  • Marathon speed (Civ6).png Marathon (200% slower - 1500 turns)

Turns and year[edit | edit source]

The year progresses in 7 or 8 iterations in Civilization VI. When starting in the Ancient Era the game starts in 4000 BC and ends in 2050 AD. Below is a table showing the iterations of year progression at different game speeds.
