The Squadron Commander is a Modern Age air support unit in Civilization VII.
Strategy[]
The Squadron Commander can gain XP and level up to provide combat boosts to air units around it.
Civilopedia entry[]
Just as armies and navies hold supreme commanders, newly created air divisions also require leaders. The rank of squadron leader was established in 1919 by the (British) Royal Air Force, at the dawn of air combat. Organizing mass air raids became vitally important during World War II, as clashes such as the Battle of Britain, the Battle of Midway, and the devastating bombings of London, Dresden, and Tokyo required coordination and planning.
