Strength (sometimes called Combat Strength or Melee Strength) is a unit attribute in the Civilization games. It is a measurement of a military unit's fighting prowess, indicating how much damage it does when making attacks and how much damage it takes from enemy attacks.
Prior to Civilization IV, Strength was divided into Attack and Defense. Civilization V introduced different types of Strength for melee and ranged attacks, and Civilization VI introduced three new types of Strength.
