Guys, I just spent 1/2 hour reloading and trying to stop the enemy from bombing my ass. No success. At one point I had 5 Fighters on Intercept mode, along with three Mobile SAMs right next to the city, and the bomber still arrived safely to deliver its bomb. Has anybody been actually successful at stopping an Atomic Bomb from hitting? Or seen the AI stop it? Soltan Gris 17:59, August 4, 2016 (UTC)
Intercepting Atomic Bombs[]
In response to the post above, your experience and the following two threads on CivFanatics lead me to conclude that Atomic Bombs cannot be intercepted, probably due to a bug that was never fixed:

It's unfortunate that the game is nearly 6 years old and Firaxis never got around to fixing the bug, but I've reworded the article accordingly. -Mythril Wyrm (talk) 21:39, August 4, 2016 (UTC)
Tell me about it... It actually makes sense for the Bomber at least to be vulnerable to interception. Then, the Nuke Missile would be a real upgrade as a certain hit... Never mind, we'll have to live with it. And hope that they thought of that in the new Civ :) Soltan Gris 01:11, August 5, 2016 (UTC)
