Is there a rule on article naming when there is a "The" at the start? I know that many Technology-type article rename these, for instance Wheel (Civ2) instead of The Wheel (Civ2), with the latter merely left as a redirect.
Does this same logic apply to unique Wonders, or "Secret Projects" in this case?
- The convention - at least, since I started editing here back in the days of Civilization V - has been to render the names of technologies, wonders, and projects exactly as they appear in the games. If "The" is the first word of an entity's name, "The" will be the first word of the article name as well. However, it's encouraged to help readers find these articles more easily by creating redirect pages without the word "The" in the title, much like we have The Wheel (Civ5) and The Internet (Civ5) as the main articles with Wheel (Civ5) and Internet (Civ5) as redirects. -Mythril Wyrm (talk) 14:02, October 23, 2018 (UTC)
- Good to know! I may have reversed that convention by mistake on a few Civ2 (and possibly Civ3) articles some time back, so I'll try to look over those in the near future to correct my mistakes. Would we want to add a "DEFAULTSORT:Project Name, The" to such articles for better category ordering, or just let them all fall under "T"? And finally, do we do anything special in tables and sorted lists, or just let all the "The-Xxx" articles sort between "S" and "V"? Thanks in advance for any further clarification.
