Points of reference for points of contention[]
In response to recent edits to this page and Alexander's, I'm attaching a couple of screenshots and notes to be read by people who edit this page in the future.
The first is from the Civilization VI XML files and shows "Batman" as the last item on the list of Macedonian cities. Contrary to appearances, this is not a mistake, and the city should not be removed from the city list.
The second is from the game's main menu (as of March 30, 2017) and shows the Hetairoi as a Macedonian unit. Adding to the discrepancy, Alexander's leader ability does not state that he gains the Hetairoi as a unique unit, though his Civilopedia entry lists it as unique to him (somewhat similar to Harald Hardrada's Viking Longship). However, since all of the civilizations released thus far have had only one unique unit unless their leader's ability gave them a second one, I propose treating the Hetairoi as being unique to Alexander rather than Macedon.
If anyone has questions or differing opinions, feel free to post a message here or on my wall. -Mythril Wyrm (talk) 00:18, March 31, 2017 (UTC)
- Batman is a city in Turkey so probably it is meant to represent some ancient city from the Hellenistic era. Nanomat (talk) 15:04, March 31, 2017 (UTC)
- That's what I decided after scouring some Wikipedia articles. Thanks for the input! -Mythril Wyrm (talk) 15:26, March 31, 2017 (UTC)
This is returded as hell[]
I can't believe whoever wrote this has any real experience with the game. Maybe his little brother played while he watched, but he does not have a clue what he's talking about. You cannot march your troops through enemy territory attacking whatever city suits you. You don't have the luxury of picking targets based on whether or not they have a wonder or a certain district. That's asinine. And there's no way you can play a game so lopsided that you can benefit from Magnus' Black Marketer trait to make your classic era units cheaper. Maybe if you play on the easiest mode, in which case makes sense that your advice is trash. A beginning player would be better off figuring it out themselves. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 45.134.224.153 (wall •contribs)
- Zechariah0311 wrote most of the Strategy sections for the civilizations in Civ6 and its expansions, so you can take it up with him if you think his ideas are garbage. However, it would be more productive to edit the Strategy section yourself and either rewrite the parts that give bad advice or qualify that it works only on the lowest difficulty levels - this is your wiki too, after all. -Mythril Wyrm (talk) 21:44, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
