Civilization Wiki

Justification[]

I'm not convinced that we need this page. Turn already exists, and the existence of a similar page for a specific game suggests that turns in Civ2 are fundamentally different from turns in other Civilization games. Besides, most of the information on it is copied from other pages, such as Civilizations (Civ2) and Oedo year.

If this page is going to be kept, I think it should be renamed Gameplay (Civ2) and expanded, because there's no need for an entire page about a concept that's present and fundamentally similar in every single game this wiki covers. -Mythril Wyrm (talk) 13:55, 10 September 2023 (UTC)

Similar in the fundamentals maybe, but different enough in the particulars that dedicated articles are a valid approach. Order of operations, order of action, and calendar progression do vary between games, and it seems more sensible to document the differences on discrete pages that also act as navigational hubs for the relevant game. When per-game details summarize in a couple of paragraphs, like Obsolete, condensing everything into a single article makes sense; when elaborating calendar tables, modding details, and mechanical idiosyncrasies (as in here), piling this onto a single page for each game will quickly become unwieldy.
