The Teutonic Knight is a unique melee unit of the Imperials from The Black Death, a scenario in Civilization VI: Gathering Storm. It replaces the Swordsman.

  • Attributes:
    • Higher Civ6Production Production cost (100 vs. 90).
    • Lower Civ6Gold Gold maintenance cost (0 vs. 2).
    • Higher Civ6StrengthIcon Combat Strength (38 vs. 36).
    • +8 Civ6StrengthIcon Combat Strength in enemy territory.

Apart from taking a little longer to train, the Teutonic Knight is much better than the standard Swordsman: it's stronger, cheaper to maintain, and receives an impressive Civ6StrengthIcon Combat Strength bonus in enemy territory. It's also available as soon as the scenario begins, making the Holy Roman Empire a dreadful foe if they decide to go on the offensive while the plague sweeps over the land.

Civilopedia entryEdit

One of the religious orders of knighthood in Europe, the Teutonic Knights conducted the Northern Crusade against the pagan tribes in the Baltic region. They were particularly noted for their aggressiveness, their intransigence, their wealth, and their austere lifestyle, even by the standards of crusader orders.
